Adding the eCareer Mentors App to Zoom

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Log in to Zoom
    • Navigate to Zoom’s official website and sign in to your account. Ensure you are logged into an account that has appropriate permissions to install apps (Admin or relevant permissions).
  2. Go to Zoom App Marketplace
    • Once logged in, click on your profile icon at the top right and select "Apps".
    • Alternatively, go directly to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  3. Search for eCareer Mentors
    • In the App Marketplace search bar, type "eCareer Mentors".
    • Click on the eCareer Mentors app from the search results.
  4. Install the App
    • On the eCareer Mentors app page, click "Add" to install.
    • You may need to authorize access to your Zoom account by clicking “Authorize”.
    • Review and accept the app's permissions (this typically includes allowing Zoom to manage meetings and access user data like names and email addresses).
  5. Connect Your eCareer Mentors Account
    • After installing, you will be prompted to link your eCareer Mentors account.
    • Enter your eCareer Mentors login credentials and complete the integration setup.
  6. Confirmation
    • Once the integration is successfully added, you will receive a confirmation message, and the eCareer Mentors app will be visible in your Zoom apps section.

Feature 2: Joining a Mentorship Session via Zoom

  • Use Case: Once a session is scheduled, you can join the meeting directly from the eCareer Mentors platform or via the Zoom app.

    • The session must be scheduled through eCareer Mentors.
    • You must be logged in to both Zoom and eCareer Mentors.
  • Steps:
  1. On the day of the meeting, go to the "My Sessions" tab in eCareer Mentors.
  2. Click "Join Session" to automatically open Zoom.
  3. If you are using the Zoom desktop app, Zoom will open directly. If using the browser, you will be prompted to launch Zoom.

Feature 3: Session Feedback and Ratings

  • Use Case: After a session, both mentor and mentee can rate the session and provide feedback.
  • Prerequisites:
    • Both parties must have completed the Zoom session.
  • Steps:
  1. After the meeting ends, go to the Session History section in eCareer Mentors.
  2. Click on the "Rate Session" button.
  3. Select a rating (1-5 stars) and provide feedback. Both mentor and mentee can complete this.
  4. Your feedback helps improve the quality of future sessions and the platform.

Removing the eCareer Mentors App from Zoom

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Log in to Zoom
  2. Go to Zoom App Marketplace
    • From the Zoom dashboard, click on "Apps" in the menu bar, or go directly to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  3. Find eCareer Mentors in Installed Apps
    • Under "Manage" in the Apps section, look for "eCareer Mentors" in your installed apps list.
  4. Uninstall the App
    • Click on the "Manage" button next to eCareer Mentors and select "Remove".
    • Confirm the removal when prompted.
  5. De-Authorization
    • If you're a Zoom admin, ensure you review the permissions before confirming removal. When removed, all meeting data connected to eCareer Mentors will be disconnected from your Zoom account.

Implications of De-Authorization:

  • Once you remove the integration, you will no longer be able to schedule Zoom sessions via eCareer Mentors.
  • Any meeting links and scheduled events will be disabled.
  • eCareer Mentors will remove all session history and feedback data tied to Zoom meetings from their platform.

Data Removal and Privacy:

  • When you remove the app, eCareer Mentors will delete any Zoom-related data (session info, meeting links, feedback, etc.) from our systems within 30 days.
  • However, your profile and other non-Zoom-related information will remain intact in your eCareer Mentors account.
